(xUKx Renegade) Bologna 1 v 0 Cagliari BigManOnCampus0)
With the Bologna spirits down as of their first defeat in the season hits them hard, this week they face the Cagliari team which Bologna feel may pose as a threat if the Bologna defense slip up again.
Match Description Both teams step out on the Bologna home pitch and both expecting to pick up a point or three. The Bologna manager is putting out a 5-4-1 formation as he doesn't think he needs two upfront. The Bologna manager feels confident that M. Marazzina who is playing CAM instead of his usual striker position could always rush upfront and help out fellow team mate M. Di Vaio if their needs to be any assistance in that area. While the Bologna team was going to an all-out-defence but also going for the three points, the Cagiliari side put out a 4-3-3 attacking formation and are looking to snatch up all three points, along with a hefty few goals. The game gets straight into action with the Bologna side breaking on the first attack. The first attack nearly see's a goal but M. Marazzina hits the woodwork as the team celebrate. Realising their was no goal, the Cagilairi team go on a quick attack and if it wasn't for the Bologna defence Cagliari would have scored. Heading up to the first quater-of-an-hour it's M. Di Vaio who hits the woodwork for the Bologna side. Not seeing a real oppurtunity to score the Bologna manager decides to send up M. Marazzina to accompany M. Di Vaio uprfront. The Cagiliari midfield showed a lot of will and stregnth, weaving between the Bologna but only to be stopped every time by the Cagiliari defence. As half time draws near both teams decide to sit back and go back to the drawing board. The half time whistle hits at as an exciting half comes to close. The Bologna team had many chances but got denied by the post and crossbar, while the Cagiliari team didn't have so many chances but looked to be the more dominant side of the two.
Half Time Stats Bologna v Cagiliari Shots- 6 2 Shots on Target 4 2 Goals- 0 0 Possession- 49% 51% No reds, no yellows. One offside each and no corners.
The second half kicks off nicely as both teams change tactics. The Cagiliari team head to the wing a bit more but disturbingly the Bologna team change from a 4-5-1 to a 5-0-5 formation. Risking it all now the Bologna manager has a few words to say to his team and everybody else watching.
'It's break or make time. We haven't gotten off to the start we had liked but we now realise we need more upfront, so why not put half of the team their. We need goals and we need them within the next 45 minutes or else in our eyes we have left empty handed. We are the smallest club in this division and we hope to win the league this year. Although many people look at us and laugh, well we've had some decent results and we cannot afford to slip up. The Fiorentina game had got out of hand and both me and their manager have apologised for the harshness of the game. Now focusing on the rest of this match, we can't afford to walk away with a point and hope to wni the league, we are nearly a quater of the way through it and need to win as many games as possible. This game should have been over for the Cagilairi team by now and we should have won, but looking at our performance, we need a goal and also cannot let a goal past us. That is why I have chosen a 5 defence, 5 striker formation with no midfield. Let's see how it goes.'
Straight away it is clear that the Bologna manager had done the right rhing with his team getting our thier and proving their hart for the club. Hitting the woordwork once more, the Bologna team get frustrated as it seems nothing is going in. The team begins to slack and it's only been 5 minutes into the half. A slip up by the Cagiliari keeper boots it straight into the Bologna half but it ends up going to a Bologna player. Not seeing much of a scoring chance or any good runs the player passes it to M. Marazzina. M. Marazzina begins to jog in to the Cagiliari half of the pitch. Unchallenged he carries on jogging until he see's two of the opposition run at him and so he passes it two M. Di Vaio. M. Di Vaio quickly passes it to Adailton who is slowly drifting outside to the left. A one touch pass back to M. Di Vaio with courtesy of Adailton, M. Di Vaio manages to slip into the Cagiliari box and tap it past the Cagiliari goal keeper. One-Nil! Bolgona take the lead with a quick pass and move stratergy. Cagiliari keep their heads up high and begin to do well but can't break the 5 defence opposition. The Bologna team have a few good chaces in which the goal keeper for Cagiliari should get credit for his magnificent saves. Heading into the final 20 minutes, Bologna hit's the post and the ball re-bounds onto the goal keepers back. The 5 attackers rush up to hit the goal in as the ball is on the line and the keeper is on the floor. The keeper manages to edge the ball past the post once more and out for a corner with his right foot. The corner is a good one but M. Marrazina heads the ball wide. The 88th minute is here and we've just witnessed a disaster for the Cagiliari side who just missed out on a perfect oppurtunity to equalise. The striker for the team managed to out-run two Bologna defences and then managed two make a successful one-two pass to allow access into the Bolonga 18 yard box. With only one place to shoot, at goal, the awkward angled shot misses the goal completely and the Bologna side take no chances as the goal keeper quickly kicks the ball for the goal kick. A quick goal kick was taken and blasted into the Cagiliari half of the pitch. As Cagiliari go on one last break they end up losing the ball in the middle of the Bologna half and a Bologna defender rushes to the ball and boots it up to the Cagiliari keeper. As the keeper catches the ball he the rolls it out to one of his team mates as the whistle blows. All-in-all a good game with 4 shots from the Bologna team hitting the woodwork.
End of Match Stats Bologna v Cagiliari Shots- 12 3 Shots on Target 8 2 Goals- 1 0 Possession- 52% 48% No cards or fouls. A good game which was close until tactical changes where made just before th start of the second half and things edged more towards Bologna.
[b]Man of the Match awarded to:Christian Amoroso[b] (Bologna) |

[b]Man of the Match awarded to:Christian Amoroso[b] (Bologna) Cagilari 0-1 Bologna goals Bologna M.Di Viao Close game through out, Defense played OK, till the second half, when they were overwhelmed by the 5-0-5 formation, where it showed frustration from attack to break it and defence to stop it. So we were blind sided by that attack the rest of the game game through... gg Renegade...

Cheers, League moderator I'd like to make a formal complaint here to the admins about DYN0MITE 2K8, he left my match today aswell when i was winning 2-0 in the 65th minute and tried to be all coy about it by trying to question whether we should start the match from scratch, i had none of it and beat him 4-0, shame. Also rrsvdm it probably wasn't a great idea for him to quit when playing a league mod.

i think i may have to resign from roma soon. i just can't do anything in the final third, while every one of my opponents takes advantage of every single mistake i make. |
