The Manager lowdown- Macleanie PAFC

Arrived on the site 3rd November 2008 took up the job at Manchester City having had an application accepted. Declared he wanted to bring attacking sexy football to the City of Manchester Stadium and was looking to spend the 80mil he started on wisely. Although a Plymouth Argyle fan at heart he is well known for showing his passion to the citizens by signing new contracts at the end of every season and showing his commitment to take the club all the way. To bring success to the club and give the fans what they've never had. Quoted saying '' This is our city''.

Season 1:

  • League- 2nd with 41pts W:13 D:2 L:4

  • Super Cup- Winners

A very successful first season on the blue side of Manchester. With huge ins and outs in the transfer market fans were woried about a bond between the players however this was seen off when the Super cup was brought home after a dramtic final against Getafe where Joe Hart proved to be the match winner with a save in the penalty shootout. Macleanies success in his first season saw him crowned World Manager of the Year.

Fans were confused by the exit of there star player Robinho but saw David Silva arrive in his place, Ballack was made captain after his 8million pound move from chelsea and Tevez broke the world record signing for 100m.

Season 2

  • League- 2nd with 43pts W:13 D:4 L:2

  • Super Cup- Bottem Group G

  • Champions Cup- Winners

Some say consistency is key and it certainly shined in citys 2nd season when they again finished 2nd with a similar record to season one but defensively shined only losing 2 games. Man city failed to defend there super cup trophy when they finished bottem of there group and were ridiculed in the media for there absency on the pitch..however they hit back when Macleanie took his side to the champions cup final beating rivals Tottenham hotspur to the first ever honour in this newly formed cup. Champions of europe saw maicon grace the side and many changes in midfield with scholes and carrick wearing the shirt after the selling of Mikel arteta.

Season 3

  • League- 3rd with 42 pts W:13 D:3 L:3

  • Super Cup- Semi Final

  • Champions Cup- Semi Final

This was a disappointing season for city as they failed to win silverware for the first time however it wasnt all doom and gloom as they only finished a point away from 2nd place and came within a sniff of the cup competitions losing out in the semis. This seasons accolades saw them only qualify for the UEFA cup however this was still seen as a good achievement and saw iniesta come in via the window. The shock of the season was to see the fans favourite Elano go on loan to Norwich in the Championship having fallen out of favour at Manchester city..although halfway through the season he was recalled and brought back the starting line-up.

The league grew strong and saw new talent in the way of managers grace the premier league..this was a difficult season and would only grow stronger as the seasons progress. Manchester city board offer Macleanie a new contract knowing he is the only man for the job.

Season 4

  • League- 3rd with 42 pts W:13 D:3 L:3

  • Super Cup- Winner

  • UEFA Cup- Runner-Up

What a season, Man city got back to winning ways as they lifted the Super Cup for the second time in there history. Consistency is a huge part to success and man city certainly proved that finishing 3rd again in the league with identical statistics in a tough contested fight for the title. In the league game against arsenal they dropped 2 points as lavezzi equalised in the 90th min and preventing this could have seen them nick 2nd spot. Although gaining 2nd spot would have meant champions cup football which man city already qualify for via winning the super cup. In man citys debut appearence in the UEFA cup they got all the way to the final before losing to there bitter rivals man united, this was slightly disappointing as it would have meant that only the league would be the completion of being the first team on Fifa360 to win every competition. But with a top four finish and two cup finals it was still confirmed that THIS IS OUR CITY!

Much of this success is due to the mid transfer window signings, macleanie took huge chances in seeing elano, david silva, totti and modric all leave but saw the arrival of di natale, malouda and a intergral part of the campaign, david trezeguet. His partnership with tevez was second to none, formed at the right time as man city turned things round in both groups in cups and went from 6th/7th in league to 3rd!

This success saw Macleanie PAFC sign a new contract, completing a milestone 5 seasons at Manchester city, as well as being nominated for the world manager of the year award. They look to improve the squad with minor changes and then really challenge for the premier league title in season 5!
