Managers End of Season Reflections

Dear board.

I come to you for the second time..but i have now completed the season. I feel the need to write this because ive just come off the back of double semi final losses in both the super and champions cup.

In one i was robbed, in the other i was outclassed.

Ive done my best and, since the last time i wrote ive improved my league position, and achieved 3rd place, so there will be some european action next season, uefa cup.

It seems like i can only do good in either the league or cup..but next season i promise it to be both. I havent achieve champions cup football for next season, but i can win the uefa cup, which will complete the trophy cabinet for man city, european wise. The english league will follow. Please give me a 4th season at the helm. This is the best job in the world. Im upset right now but will be even more distraught to be without my man city!

I had an extremely good season,buying d.bent midway through the season and getting 22 goals with him.I came third in the league and qualified through my super cup group stage preventing barcelona and tottenham from qualifying,which i am very proud of.I had a great season and will have an even better one next season.

To the board

The league campaign this season has been a mixed one. With a few good results and few bad ones, and one were we were the victim of boosting (Almeria 4 and a half star team) we are 4 points off a top 4 Finish. Also the 1-0 win against neigbours Real gave the fans something to cheer about. However a good run in the super cup has been a bonus and being the first manager to take Atletico Madrid to a major FIFA360 final, (still waiting to play the final) thus securing our minimum expectation of European football for next season.

My dealings in the transfer market has proved to fruitful with the capture of David Villa being popular with the fans. I have not only been strengthening the first eleven but also the squad as a whole, with the squad now standing at 21 players. I will be also looking to strengthen a few more areas in the next transfer window.

My loyalty to the club has also never been in doubt, although there were strong rumors linking me with Manchester United & Aston Villa I myself never thought twice about leaving this club.

I hope that by securing our minimum expectation of European football that I will be given another season to build on and hopefully go and challenge for the title.

I address this open letter to the board of Villarrreal CF., the chairman Senor Alfonso,
and the loyal fans…

After a steady but unspectacular start to my managerial career with Recreativo Huelva,
I was given the opportunity to manage Villarreal, and although I had struck up
a good relationship behind the scenes at Recre, the offer to manage the La Liga
champions proved too good to turn down and I left with the Recre board’s
apporoval.

Although the club had success in the league in the 2^nd season, I inherited a
squad that needed a lot of work to turn them into a truly world class outfit.
For example, when I took over there was only one recognised world class striker
in the squad – Raul. Although Raul has sadly since left for England, I have
transformed the team that ended season 2 into a truly great one. I have brought
in some of the best players and biggest names in the world to our small town –
players
like Gamberini, Maxwell, Fabregas, Cambiasso and Van Nistelrooy to name
but a few. I also managed to bring back fan favourite Guiseppe Rossi to
El Madrigal. This has not been done at the expense of the overall squad
however – I have built a squad with
real strength and depth and have the likes of Hamsik, Rossi, Ballesta and
Dainelli to make up a very strong bench. Although I went out to buy big names
for the club, I also did it in a way that each player complements another. I
did not buy rashly and in my opinion have built a squad that gels very well
together and is incredibly versatile and well balanced.

I understand that the board will be very disappointed that Villarreal have not
reached their expectation this season, and even more disappointed that I have
failed
to qualify them for Europe. But the season has not been all bad.
Villarreal qualified second from Supercup Group C – the group that many
called “the group of death” due to the fact that it included both
supercup finalists from last season as well as Arsenal, a very
strong team who have finished 2^nd in the Prem this season. I beat Arsenal on the way to the knockout rounds and although finished 2^nd
behind them in the group, we were the only undefeated team. We then
went on to beat our greatest rivals Valencia in the last 16, before
losing very narrowly to the eventual champions, Deportivo.

As far as the league goes, La Liga has definitely been taken to another level this season
– Barca have looked invincible at times and the fact that the 2 supercup finalists (the cup with every team in Europe) came 7^th and 8^th in La Liga this season shows the strength in depth of the league.

Having said that, the league performance will obviously worry the board the most. Without
passage to uefa or champs league I can understand their frustration, and I feel
the pain just as much as our cherished fans. However I ask that the board
please place their confidence in me for the coming season because I truly
believe that I can take the title. For a long time this season it looked as
though
Villarreal would definitely be qualifying for Europe, but in the latter
half of the season we have had some incredibly unlucky results and I am
not afraid to admit that the manager’s inexperience may have shown
though at times. This season Villarreal have lost 5 games from last
minute goals (plz see la liga results), but despite these unlucky and poor results, and our
attacking mentality, we have still finished La Liga with the best
defensive record. We
did not lose one league game all season by more than 1 goal and have conceded
an average of less than one a game – at one point in the season we had conceded
7
goals from 14 games – the second best record in Europe behind Chelsea.
At the other end we have not been bad either, with new signing
Nistelrooy bagging 27 goals to be
joint 4^th top scorer.

Mr Chairman, the board and the fans, with my appointment I have attempted to
couple a strong defensive record with a much more free-flowing attacking style
at the fans request. Even though we have the best defensive record I the
league, at no point in the season have we switched to a defensive mentality or
played more than 4 at the back. Indeed, one of Cambiasso’s greatest assets is
the
ability to surge forward into the box from cdm. Villarreal go out onto
the pitch every game looking for the win, but they also look to do it
with style. It is my
philosophy that wherever possible we should be playing attractive attacking
football. I know that the fans appreciate going to watch an attacking minded
team every game and win or lose, they will always go home entertained. It is my
goal
next season to make Villarreal feared throughout Europe for their
“Barcelona-like” sexy attacking football – the foundations have been
set as I have one of the best passing teams in the game. I have the
squad almost exactly how I want it now, and with one or 2 shrewd
signings pre season believe that I can bring home multiple trophies to
Villarreal with my ‘attack is the best form of defence’ mentality.

As far as the fifa360 site goes, I will be entering my 3^rd season as a very
active member and regular contributor to the community. I play my games on
time, have had a successful run as Derby CT and try my best to contribute to the site in a
positive way. I am as passionate about the site as I am Villarreal, and I hope
that the board decides to go with some continuity and consistency as this is
only my first season with them and my first with a big team – I am still
learning all the time and constantly improving. The board and fans will expect
an improved league performance next season and I am 100% confident that I am
the man to deliver.

As I said in my opening paragraph, it was not easy to leave such a historic club as
Recreativo, but I have now formed a really close and fantastic bond with
Villarreal and everyone involved with the club. Throughout the season I have
demonstrated my loyalty to the board by choosing not to apply for Barca, Real
Madrid and Man Utd twice. It is no secret that I support Man Utd and maybe one
day in the future it would be nice to manage at Old Trafford, but I feel so
close to Villarreal and love them so much that even the thought of managing for
United holds no interest for me. I didn’t apply for these big teams throughout
the season because I have my team – Villarreal. I have poured all of my love
into this team and ask the board to please consider extending my contract because
of the passion that I have for Villarreal and the fact that I can win
silverware with this relatively new squad. Although we have not won anything in
my first season, it was just that – a first season in change of a new team.
With
the experience of managing from last season I know that I can raise my
game and give Barca, Chelsea and Inter a run for their money for the
greatest team in Europe.

I really truly do love managing at Villarreal and can’t imagine having a new team. After
only one season in charge I think that I deserve the chance to show what I can
really do now that the players have settled and gelled properly. I hope that
the board share my feelings – there is no other club in the world that I would
rather be at. I have taken this team to my heart and it is now truly my
favourite
team in Spain in real life as well! I would like to thank the Chairman,
the board, the fans and everyone else involved with this great club for
a fantastic rollercoaster
of a season in charge. I promise that if you stick with me, I will not
disappoint and can bring the good times back to Villarreal next season.

(ps. i just checked and despite conceeding a third of all my 'goals against' in the last 2 games of the season, Villarreal still have the 2nd best defensive record in the whole of Europe. I think this helps to show that with a bit more luck in some games eg. 1-0 to real madrid in 91st min from a pen that even nighter10 said wasnt a pen, then my season could have been oh so different.)

As the season ends and i see my team outside the top 4 in the league, it pains me that we arent in there...especially having beaten the majority of the teams above me in the league.

I do feel that this was a warm up season if you will...big big names had left Juventus before i had even arrived, making my job even more the difficult.

Yes, i did let amauri and lennon go, but in return i brought in Zanetti Forlan Walcott Cahill.......these 4 were instrumental in the uefa cup and league

To finish outside the top 4 trophyless is unacceptable, but there are signs that myself and juventus could be a match made in heaven...a 7-1 thrashing of Real Madrid in the UEFA Cup, and then the huge win over Sevilla -

however, these results now count for nothing, and i promise to give my all next season to ensure glory is brought back to Juventus.

If i am to be given a 2nd season in charge i promise to deliver big big results.

I'm taking this time just now to contact you about my current job as club manager.I'm love this club so there
for not wanting to leave im hoping to take this opertunity to put my points forward even though we are in
relegation battle due to unseen circumstances.
Firstly my past record.

I took palermo from a low caliber team into almost a worldclass team bringin in fresh faces and good talent
e.g. Aguero,Pazzini,Eduardo,Carragher,Grygera,Valdes,Cole,Lucio,Senna and theres a few from the past who i had to let go but replaced them with talented youngsters.
I also took palermo into europe for there 1st time not even uefa cup it was the big 1 Champs Cup 1st time this club has ever reached europe i believe and at that i finished 2nd in league behind an amazin Inter Milan side who didnt lose a single league game.

Now For This Season

I got of to a brillant start winning my 1st 4 games which include udinese,atalanta,sampdoria,and undefeated
champions inter milan winning 3-2 we then lost to a juventus team who suprisingly put out a back line of 7
which was not expected from a high class team the next few results werent tht great but we bounced back with spirit
and fight winning 10-1 against siena and won most games from there on in expect 1 with another 11-1 on the cards
i didnt have the best of supercup runs yet again dont no whats up with the team but the tournament just dont seem
to go for me just now but this will change the longer am in charge.
1st year in champs cup and europe for the underdogs we got of to a great start beating big guns sevilla 3-0 went on to lose to arsenal but bounced back straight away with and incredable win at inter milan 5-2 then went on to beat sevilla 4-2 but lost remaning 2 games so finished with a total of 9 points which means the team could still
qualify for knockouts if results go there way.not bad for palermos 1st season ever in europe may i say.
aguero a young talent brought in by myself in sum good wheeling and dealing in the transfer market is top scorer for our club and is 1 of top scorers in the league and champs cup aswell at only 21 hes a future star this cant
be denied.
pazzini is another young gun whos broke into the scoring charts with a load a goals at just 23 yrs old
eduardo a new recent signing by myself but hes proving to be a real piece of work for defenders his pace dribbling
and finishing seems to be to hot to handle for alot of teams with a lethal left foot.
took me a while to find a formation to fit and work well with all these new players but i think ave got it they
seem to work togeither pass and move really well and results i ave played in friendlys show played about 7
friendly so far and not lost 1 infact not lost a goal which seems to show how its doing for itself.

please take note of all this as if you actually calculated the our points we would be top 4 and in europe againand tbh it isnt really been a bad season so far its been as good as last year and were holding our own in the serie a now .

i would also like to add that this year has seen a few really good managers join serie a making it more competitive and as u can see weve probz got 1 or 2 of the best players on the site now in our league and also i would like to point out a turned down a few good opertunitys sum may say were bigger clubs and better offer (man utd)but a stuck
with the team i joined last year and built to suit my style of play .

also i always play my games on time and probably 1 of the 1st to do so and a very active member who just enjoys the game

i would like to point out than catania and cagaliari were given 1-0 loses as couldnt complete games so this has gave a few lower clubs points which had made them gain ground on me but if this didnt happen am sure a would finish comfortably in midtable

with the new signings i have got in place lets just say palermo are going to be even stronger than before and defo a force to be reconed with we are strengthenin key area and deals have been made and the players git in nicley this will help us bolster our season title run next year

this year we also got hit with a point deduction for trouble with ac milan after all was resolved we got ammended -25 points but we fought back hard from being there and got ourselfs to mid table it was a long hard slug out but all round i think weve done a grand job to get from bottom to mid table - even though we shouldnt have got into this problem it happened and it will be the last of it anol we are aiming high for next season which is the title and hopefully a cracking run in supercup as we didnt make europe

i feel the fans and the board and myself deserves a 2nd chance at this fantasic club and prove my worth to them but sticking it out and getting them to wear they are now a quality team that can challenge for the title

Dear Charlton board,

It's been a pleasure working as the Charlton manager and we have probably over achieved looking at the quality of the other teams in the division.
I improved the defence massively over last season with the signings of Butt, Aronica & Contini. Then during the half season window knowing the defence was sorted I loaned Harewood for some extra strength upfront which scared opponents but unfortunatly he couldn't finish his dinner!
I will consider other job offers but it's likely I will continue to do my job at Charlton for many more seasons.

Dear Torino board

i have really enjoyed my short spell at and torino and i meet my expectations also being the only team to defeat ac milan.
i didnt do much with the team as it was strong enough to finish the season but i introduced two major player and they were the signing of santi carzola and the loan of mcfadden and they both contributed in the season to get torino were they are.
i will consider resigning for torino but i would like to look elsewhere

another year with a trophy and i continue making history as barcelona's most successful manager

the league this year was probably the toughest its ever been but barcelona held tough and finished top

we became allot less dependent on one player as we have been critisised before with goals coming thick and fast from all the front 3

quite dissapointed with our cup performances but really got beaten by teams at their peak in form

ath madrid with a stunning display and real madrid who killed us when we made mistakes

but progress is being made with skillful veteran francesco totti being brought in to play that killer pass that slices defences

not dissapointed at all with our team scoring less goals this season as we have conceded less

sad to see philip lahm leave but his efforts this season helped us with the defensive record


im sure the board is happy as i am for another silver season

As the new Real Betis manager I am thoroughly disappointed with my first 8 games in charge. I realise I still have 1 game left and I am confident of a result.

I fear for my job because of my poor league performance, but I feel a lack of strong players were my main weakness. To counter this I have already made a host of successful enquiries about players who would bring not only strength but some invaluble experience to the club.

I am certain that moving into next season I can turn this form around and with the new signings I have set up possibly even challenge for a european place.

Along with bringing new faces in I intend to let a few players go to enhance the clubs bank balance and leave room and potential for further improvments to the squad at a later time.

I feel that I deserve a little longer with this team to improve on what I have started, grant me this and I'm sure we can look forward to much better times.

Dear Chievo Board,

I am writting you today to make a summary of this sort season. My first season has been excellent, I have enjoyed the positive moments and have realised my mistakes in the bad.

The manager before me had unfortunately had had a bad start to the season with his seven games all ending in loses. Even with this I still managed to turn around Chievo and bring the to a place in the table that I'am pleased with will the amount of time I have been manager of Chievo. In 12 games I have taken 22 points which has been a huge success and I believe managing a team for a hole season I could have huge success.

My overall review of the season has been good I have meet the expectation that you the board set the club, considering the amount of time I have had to bond with the team and learn each individual and how they play, I'am very please in the position I have finished in the Serie A. I'am very proud with this season and very proud with the club and all of the supporters whom support it.

On a personal note I'am very pleased with my first season in this brilliant community of Fifa360, and I hope for another exciting and thrilling season five.

To Malaga board
Well what can i say a very poor first season in charge of Malaga. I am very dissapointed with perfomences at the start of the season but graddually got better threw the mid point of the season with bringing in new signings " Edman, Sharner, Cruchaga, Vazquez, Mista, Fornnaroli" it really did strenthen up the squad but it was a little too late. i got my confidence back after a tough draw against Villeral and Real Betis. i hope that will be taken into consideration if i am kept as the manager of Malaga to have another go next season.

It has not been the greatest start to my management with Bolton.Eventhough i picked up a great result against Liverpool and in the other games i feel we have been a bit unlucky. With the money available i feel i can bring in some good talent ready for season 5. With the signings i could make next season i would like to be challenging for a uefa cup polace hopefully. Thanks for this short spell this season and in season 5 i hope i can have a chance to remain the manager.

Dear, Deportivo board

I am going to be honest and say that i feel my performence on my return to Deportivo has been a good one, I have managed to steer the club into the top half of the table but fell out of it as i went on holiday. On my return i have managed to win the fans back over and have managed a historic 1-0 victory over the newly crowned champions barcelona. After the transfer window i have brought in a couple of quality players who have definately helped the squad improve but i still feel that i need a couple more if i remain manager to have Deportivo the team that is challenging for leagues and other honours. In the forth coming Season if i am still manager i can assure the board i will make Deportivo a club that is feared in Spain and a club that is challenging on the european front.All i am asking the board for is another season in charge of Deportivo to prove what i can do with this really prestigious club,i fully understand if the board dosent wish to renew my contract at the end of the season but i really hope you do as i am really enjoying my time in charge of this amazing club.I feel that this season has been all about building a squad to achieve glory and as you know it takes time to settle at a club and i feel at home again with the Deportivo faithful chanting my name.As we know i have under achieved this season and that is not acceptable at a club like this.I have also learned from my mistakes and promise not to miss any more fixtures next season and i apologise to the board for doing that this season and i would also like to apologise to the fans who i feel like i let down.All i ask the board for is a one year exteension to my current contract to prove what i can do with this club.

Ive been manager of this fantastic club since half way point of season 1, and have been fully committed to the job from the start and still am.

I know better than anyone that the club is not where it should be and this is the first full season ive been in charge and we didnt win a throphy.

With all this said I personally would love to continue to take charge of this team and to continue to build them into a real force. I made some quality signings before the start of the season, but I was very unfortunate to be away on holidays for the mid season window and wasnt able to add to my squad, and also had the bad luck to have two first team players go out injured for 4 weeks while the window was open one of them being my superb goalkeeper FREY who I had to replace with a 66 rated keeper, which I must say cost me dearly.

I hope the board keep faith with me and leave me to continue my work, but I will not be making a fuss if they decide to part company with me as they have always stood by me and helped me along the way, for this I thank them, and leave them with time to make up there minds.

I look forward to talking to the board soon.

So far am impressed though I have not been in charge for long, but I have played 13 games and took 22 points in them games.I reckon thats pretty good going, I should have won most of them as we were unlucky. We concided most of the goals against us in the last 10 minutes. We have most of the possesionin every match I played this season we were just unlucky in front of goal.

Dear U.C. Sampdoria.

This season seemed to start well for us, but that curse of mid season striked again as I, again fail to deliever.
I for one know my future is all but over with the club. I have done everything I could possibly do with breaking the rules.
This season again, has been a very furstrating season for the team and I.
This season is by far my worst.

U.C. Sampdoria is a fantastic club with amazing players, the backroom staff and given me so much support, the fans, that is another thing, they have been out of this world with huge support through out the season.

As the season is drawing to a close, with one more league match to go.
I planned to go all out attack to demolish my opposition with the huge talent of my squad.


I sadly regret to say my goodbye's to everyone at the club and everyone who has supported me.

Dear Bolonga F.C board,

I feel my season with Bolonga has gone extremely well from coming up from relegation with 3 games lost left by the previous manager to come 7th overall in the league, beating the likes Lazio, Sampdoria and Palermo to the cut. There has been some releases and some stupid economical mistakes I have done, but yet, I still managed to pull off a top half finish as you the board expected.

The likes of Frazier Campbell, Sergio Volpi and Ignazio Abate help what my team what it was, and for another season to come, I hope to do better than what I have done this season.

Thank you very much for giving me the chance to work with such great footballers, and hopefully, you'll strongly consider my manager spot in the club to stay put.

To all Board Members of West Ham United,

I came into the job half way through the season with the hope of guiding the team away from the drop zone. Things started well with 4 points in 3 games but unfortunately the managers influence and enthusiasm for the West Ham cause has failed to rub off on the players.

As i write to you now we are currently sitting 18th with a near miracle needed for the hammers to avoid relegation, tough task with Newcastle and Arsenal to play! I feel i have let the board and the players down after i took the job. I came in with a positive attitude but the results failed to reflect this.

I hope that i have shown enough in my games to be given a second opportunity to manage the team i have supported all my life.

If the board grant me my wish and extend my contract then i will be giving the team a complete overhaul to inject some youth, pace and attacking prowes to a team that, quite frankly, is full of overpriced pre-madonnas who are not willing to fight for the rights to pull on the famous claret and blue shirt and grace the Boleyn pitch in front of the ever faithful fans.

If i am given the opportunity then i will do the best i can to get the team back to the premiership, if relegation is confirmed, or challenging for european rights if i stay in the premiership.

I thank you for the trust you have shown in me and i hope to be given the chance to prove i can achieve great things with West Ham United.

Well what a season it has been...plenty of ups and downs throughout every league and some fantastic upsets too.

After a hard fought start to the season from my team i was proudly sitting 2nd in the league where i feel alot of managers were shocked by this as i was ticked off to be one of the teams not to do so well.After a few great results against top opposition and a very close game with AC Milan losing 2-1, i felt this team was defo there to be seen and to cause some upsets.
People sat up and began to take notice of my intent and position. i felt quite happy as i had again built a team up from a very very small squad....which caused so many issues in the last 3rd of the last season as i had bare minimum to chose from and struggled to break teams down.but again i utilised the transfer market and built a fantastic team that has been competitive throughout the season.
Now the stumbling block came when i learned the biggest lesson in football history.....never to be involved with footballing issues that the league secretarys are there to sort.....this resulted in me being deducted 15 points which ultimatley knocked me off 2nd spot and placed me right down in the bottom 4 which was a shock to the system for myself and all my players and staff after all the hard work throughout the preseason and the first half of the season.
We took this on the chin, didnt object to the points deduction and kept it all away from the media and didnt make a fuss about it and kept quiet....we got the players together in an emergency meeting and demanded we go back onto the pitch and focus on finishing as high as possible then next season we can go for the title again.....my players were fantastic and showed great maturity as most my players are an average of 22 yrs old....for players this young to have this happen to them when things were looking like a title challenge to then fight to finish as high as possible was a great achievment.im very proud of them indeed.

Now the season has ended i have one of the biggest future stars in my team that has taken the league by storm and finished top goal scorer in Serie A Balotelli....hes has been a great example of youth in my squad. After the season i have taken a look at what position i would have finished had i not had points deducted and id have finsihed 4th in the league and qualified for the UEFA cup in my first season, with our expectations not being changed we had to be strong and focused which we were but this isnt going to get us down, we will fight again and push for the league next season,were very excited about the new season and the new talent we are scouting to bring in is very promising as again it is youth that will take this club forward rather than old players with big names.we as a club have learnt a lesson not to get involved with things again and have taken all on board.

i have kept a healthy bank balance for future seasons too which will set me up to build a great squad and im online every day most the day and night and play games on time and get on with all the players in chat.

id like to wish everyone the very best for the contract offers and hope you all get who you hope for.
